Who are they?
The Challenge Network is a national charity that was founded in 2009. Their aim is to connect and inspire people to strengthen their communities. They bring together local people across all generations, ethnic groups and incomes to build a stronger society by running youth & community programmes. The Challenge Network believe in building trust between all groups of people – ” we believe differences doesn’t need to divide us”
What have they done?
The Challenge Network have visited us on a few occasions this summer to help raise money during the ‘Disability Arts Festival’ we held on Portobello Green. We held a parade around the green to raise awareness of discrimination and hate crime towards disabled people. They also attended Equal People’s annual summer BBQ , where they were able to socialize with our Service Users & have fun by taking part in a Zumba Session. The Service Users really enjoyed the Challenge Network being involved in our events and would like to welcome them back soon.
